Mark Jacobsohn
FOUNDER

Mark has been in the insurance industry since 1986, working for insurance giants UNUM and The Hartford as a brokerage consultant and manager. He has multiple insurance designations through the American College. In 2004, he founded Relayer Benefits Group with the goal of providing his clients with more thoughtful and creative ideas to better meet their needs. Most importantly though, Mark believes that honesty and truth must be the cornerstones of the work he does with all his clients.
After working in the investment world early in his career, Mark saw first hand how stressful the ups and downs of the market can be. He resolved to help people “not lose” in retirement and sought a career in the insurance and retirement protection industry.
Relayer Benefits Group and Mark Jacobsohn are extraordinarily diligent in helping their clients achieve their financial objectives and never lose a dime of their principal. We keep it simple and help our clients eliminate confusion in planning for their future. Furthermore, Mark has a people-first approach to his practice. He is dedicated to serving client needs throughout their lives and in assisting them to leave the legacy they chose to leave.
Mark Jacobsohn, currently lives in York, Maine with his wife, Denise, and their two boys, James and John. He also has an older son, Alex, who is also in the insurance industry.

Alex Jacobsohn

Alex has been in the insurance industry since 2016. He began his journey advising employee benefits then branched out into life insurance and Medicare. Working at companies such as Colonial Life, HealthPlanOne and Healthisurance.com, his background as a Corporate Training Manager honed his skills in effectively educating both clients and colleagues on the intricacies of insurance products. He developed a comprehensive understanding of the diverse needs and concerns of consumers in the realm of healthcare coverage.
With a dedication to excellence and a commitment to upholding the highest standards of integrity, Alex is passionate about empowering individuals to make informed decisions about their insurance needs. Whether through personalized consultations or comprehensive training programs, he strives to ensure that consumers are equipped with the knowledge and resources necessary to protect themselves and their assets effectively.
Alex currently resides in the suburbs of Tampa, FL with his wife Heather and their two girls Ava and Willow.
Lissa started in the insurance industry in 2021 and has since earned her insuance license, further solidifying her expertise. She transitioned from Director of Account Management to Director of Operation, where she continues to lead and oversee all aspects of new business while managing the client service staff to ensure a seamless experience for both clients and advisors.
With over 14 years of experience in administrative and business leadership, Lissa specializes in managing new business processes, optimizing workflows, and improving office efficiency. Her expertise in organizing and streamlining operations enhances client support, maintains accuracy in policy processing, and ensures that all aspects of new business run smoothly from start to finish.
Outside of work, Lissa enjoys spending time with her family, curling up with a great book, trying new recipes in the kitchen, and exploring the many outdoor activities New England has to offer.
Lissa is committed to assisting clients with their policies and guiding them through the new business process, ensuring their experience is both positive and efficient.

Heather LaPlante
Director of Account Management

Heather LaPlante is a seasoned professional in the insurance industry with over 5 years of experience. She has a strong background in Medicare with a skill set specific to client relations. Heather started her journey as an insurance broker, wanting to navigate individuals through the stresses and complications of choosing the right policy for their needs. She strives to provide peace of mind to her clientele.
Outside of her career, Heather is a proud mother of two daughters, Ava and Willow. She is supported by her loving husband, Alex Jacobsohn, who values and encourages her professional growth and achievements. Together, they enjoy the Florida sunshine and having lots of laughs and fun as a family.
With a professional demeanor and a commitment to excellence, her passion for helping others and her extensive experience make her an invaluable asset to her clients and colleagues alike.
Meet Jenny! With a degree in Communication from the University of New Hampshire and a Minor in Business Administration, Jenny thrives on building meaningful connections with our valued clients. She enjoys being creative and crafting innovative strategies to expand our reach and enhance brand visibility, developing approaches that resonate with people. From organizing appointments to crafting effective digital campaigns, Jenny strives to ensure every client interaction is exceptional.
Beyond the desk, Jenny takes advantage of living in the seacoast area by visiting the ocean and learning to surf. She also enjoys reading, painting, practicing yoga, and exploring all the great restaurants in the area.

Scheduling Assistant

After attending one of Mark’s educational seminars with her husband, Judi became a client of Relayer Benefits Group. Shortly, afterward, Mark recruited her to come onboard. As the Scheduling Assistant, Judi communicates with our clients to organize and schedule annual reviews and many other kinds of appointment.
